The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was launched in October last year.It was the first device to come with the latest Android 4.0 ICS. Since then it has been launched in various market such as US,UK,Singapore,Japan and Korea.

The non-launching of a Nexus device in India is not new. The first Nexus smartphone (with HTC) was never officially launched in India. Even the Nexus S (with Samsung) was introduced in India close to the device’s end of life. It was heard that Samsung was worried that the Galaxy Nexus would have cannibalized sales of its Galaxy Note phablet. The Galaxy Note has sold really well in India, even exceeding Samsung’s expectations.

Today Nokia is putting an end to all of those rumors – the 41MP camera-smartphone PureView 808 is coming in May as it was promised all the way back in February.

India and Russia will be the first countries where Nokia will launch its PureView 808 camera phone later this month. Running on Symbian S60 (Nokia Belle) platform, the PureView 808 features a gigantic 41-megapixel camera sensor, which churns out stunning photographs in 5-megapixel resolution.

Nokia and Carl Zeiss made another announcement today – about their extended partnership. This means both companies will continue to work tightly together so they can bring you even better mobile cameras than the PureView 808’s.

Samsung today launched the Galaxy S Advance and Galaxy Pocket smartphones in India. Priced at Rs 26,900, the Galaxy S Advance features a 4-inch WVGA Super Amoled display, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi Direct. However, it still runs on the older Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS and not the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
