Samsung Galaxy SIII, the device recently launched in London with a worldwide announcement of features, has received over 9 million pre-orders worldwide according to the Korea Economic Daily. This includes the unit sold to more than 290 carriers in 145 countries.

Samsung has started rolling out the long-awaited Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy Note, finally delivering Ice Cream Sandwich to its eager tabphone fans.

Samsung has announced the Samsung Smart App Challenge 2012, a global app competition aimed at boosting the app ecosystem for Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note users. The contest is divided into two categories – ‘Samsung Apps Super Apps’ and ‘Best S Pen Apps’. A total of 80 entries will be selected as winners, receiving a record total of $4.08 million in prize money along with a variety of promotional benefits.

Yesterday, Samsung launches Galaxy S III in an event in London. Samsung has also announced that every consumer that buys and registers a Galaxy S III smartphone will get free 50GB cloud storage from Dropbox.

This is the double of what Dropbox is giving HTC One series owners, however just like HTC, the free storage will only be valid for two years.

With more and more manufacturers tying up with Dropbox to provide cloud storage on Android devices, the purpose of having the Google Drive seems defeated. Google will need to aggressively partner with manufacturers otherwise Dropbox will continue to be the tool of choice for Android buyers.

Finally, one of the most awaited phone goes real today. Samsung has officially unveiled the long-awaited Galaxy S III at their event in London. It is the third generation of Galaxy Smartphone.

The super fast smartphone runs on Android 4.0 ICS and features insanely fast 1.4 GHz Quad Core Processor, a 4.8 inch super AMOLED Display, a 8MP camera with 1080P HD recording, 1GB of RAM and of course, 4G LTE.
