Telmoco Development Labs launches Attitude Daksha, a 7-inch Android tablet for Rs 5,399



It is raining Android tablets in India. It seems that the launch and subsequent failure of Aakash has led to a deluge of sub-Rs 10,000 Android tablets, the latest being Attitude Daksha from Telmoco Labs Priced at Rs 5,399. It runs on Android 4.0 ICS and target  schools and other institutions and will be available for order from May 15.

Karbonn announces Smart Tab 1 Android 4.0 Tablet in India




After Micromax, it looks like it’s Karbonn Mobiles’ turn to leave the Indian audience awestruck with its low-cost Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet. The homegrown vendor has named its slate as the Smart Tab 1 and features a 7.0-inch capacitive 5-point multi-touch display. It runs on a 1.2GHz processor, houses a 5.0MP shooter at the back with 720p video recording, HD video playback at 1080p, a 2.0MP front-facing camera, comes with 8GB of inbuilt memory and offers connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.
This tablet will offer 7 hours of Internet surfing time, 8 hours of video playback time using earphones and 25 hours of music playback. The pricing of the Karbonn Smart Tab 1 hasn’t been revealed yet but considering the low-pricing strategies of our Indian vendors, its safe to say that it should be priced below Rs 10,000.

Looks like Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich season is finally hitting fever pitch as we are starting to see devices being launched with Google’s latest OS out of the box, though this is happening a good six months after the OS was launched. Yesterday we saw an Android 4.0 offering from HCL and today we have the Funbook from Micromax which runs Android 4.0 out of the box and costs Rs 6,499.

HCL launches Android ICS ME U1 and MyEdu tablets in India, starts from Rs 7,999


HCL has launched two budget Android tablets in the country – the  ME U1 and MyEdu tab, which run the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, out of the box.

The HCL ME U1 runs Android OS 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and has a 1GHz processor. It features 7-inch, capacitive touchcreeen with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. It also has a 0.3 megapixel front camera and 512MB RAM DDR3.
The U1 tablet has an internal storage space of 4GB, which can be expandable up to 32GB. It also has a full USB, mini USB Port and a micro SD card slot. The tablet is priced at Rs 7999.

BSNL launches Aakash tablet’s rival at Rs 3,250


Last year, DataWind in association with the Government of India came out with a 7 inch Android tablet for students. Named Aakash, the tablet costs Rs 2,999 in the market; while its subsidised rate is just Rs 2,250.
Aakash, which was hailed as the cheapest tablet in the world, was projected as revolutionary and was talked about the world over. In fact, its makers got lakhs of preorders.

Before the euphoria could die down, though, public sector telecom operator BSNL has come out with an extremely low cost tablet of its own. Manufactured by Noida based Pantel Technologies, the Penta IS701R tablet has WiFi and is priced at Rs 3,499.


BSNL has launched 3 Models:-
Model 1 : T-PAD IS701R (Rs : 3250)
Model 2 : T-Pad WS704C (Rs : 10,999)Model 3 : T-PAD WS802C (Rs : 13,500)

These tablets will be made by Noida based company named Pantel where these tablets will be sold with discounted data plans from BSNL. And according to Pantel, the T-PAD IS701R has 1 GHz processor and 256M RAM with Wi-Fi option enabled. The built in 2GB memory can be expanded to 32 GB. Where as the second model , T-Pad WS704C has 512 MB DDR 3 RAM and can be connected to TV through HDMI. And the last model, T-PAD WS802C is powered with 1.2 GHz processor and 512 MB DDR 3 RAM. This model will contain a in built GPS. Model 2 and 3 mentioned below will contain a capacitive screen which has a better touch screen sensitivity.
