HCL launches Android ICS ME U1 and MyEdu tablets in India, starts from Rs 7,999


HCL has launched two budget Android tablets in the country – the  ME U1 and MyEdu tab, which run the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, out of the box.

The HCL ME U1 runs Android OS 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and has a 1GHz processor. It features 7-inch, capacitive touchcreeen with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. It also has a 0.3 megapixel front camera and 512MB RAM DDR3.
The U1 tablet has an internal storage space of 4GB, which can be expandable up to 32GB. It also has a full USB, mini USB Port and a micro SD card slot. The tablet is priced at Rs 7999.
The HCL MyEdu Tab comes in two variants - MyEduTab–K12 and MyEduTab-Higher Education(HE).

The price for the MyEduTab – K12 version is Rs 11,499, which includes the price of the device, content and a memory card while educational applications and NCERT books will be free.
On the other hand, the MyEduTab - Higher Education(HE) version is priced at Rs 9,999, which which will include the device, educational content and online certification pack.
