Sony launches Xperia SOLA Smartphone

SONY Xperia 'SOLA' Smartphone with DUAL CORE Processor & Floating touch



Sony has finally taken out its Xperia SOLA Smartphone(previously named PEPPER)  from the den.
The Xperia sola is built with a thinner design as its previously announced counterparts having 9.9mm and carries a very appreciative sleeve which Sony calls it “floating touch”.
It also comes with new data sharing technology called NFC(Near Field Communication)



What is Floating Touch?


 It is a new technology in which  user can just soar their fingers over the screen at the time of using the browser and the user will be able to mark that it will act as a cursor which will allow them to float over links. 
Sony has also stated that it will be letting the floating touch ability enabled in many of the other apps along with software updates and later on open it up for the developers so that they can use it in their own stuff. The Sony Xperia Sola Smartphone is enabled with a 3.7″ Reality capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors and has a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels along with ~265 ppi pixel density. Certain other display features are such as Multitouch, implemented with the protection of a Scratch-resistant glass, features Floating touch display and is equipped with the sensors as Accelerometer, proximity and compass. It is powered by a dual-core processor and is embedded with a NovaThor chipset. The device runs on Android v2.3 Gingerbread Operating System which has been planned to be upgrade to v4.0 IceCream Sandwitch OS .


It has been provided with a microSD Card slot so that the user of it can expand its memory storage and is embedded with internal memory storage of 8 GB (5GB user accessible) along with 512 MB RAM. It is offered with GPRS, EDGE, Speed of HSDPA, HSUPA and offers the connectivity options of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP connectivity, NFC support and microUSB v2.0. Besides, the device has been equipped with a primary 5 MP snapper that carries a camera resolution of 2592 х 1944 pixels.
Certain features resembling its camera are such as autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, 3D sweep panorama along with image stabilization and it also has the ability to capture videos at 720p@30fps that features continuous autofocus with video light. What it lacks is a secondary camera and for which video conferencing cannot be done. The device operates on 2G Networks GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 & 3G Networks HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100.
If you are looking for its power then it is empowered with a Standard Li-Ion 1320 mAh battery that ensures a huge battery backup of up to 470 h (2G) & up to 475 h (3G) whereas the Talk time is up to 6 h (2G) & up to 5 h (3G). The device has a Music play of up to 40 h. The Sony Xperia Sola Smartphone measures for a dimension of 116 x 59 x 9.9 mm and has a weight of 107 g. This Xperia device will be globally launched in Q2 of this year. This handset will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread while its launch and the 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update has been planned for summer.
